Hey there Jules991, and welcome to Wikipedia. I hope you enjoy your stay here--Wikipedia is a big place, and I'm sure you'll find plenty of articles and discussions that interest you. You might consider viewing the benefits you now have since you've created an account on Wikipedia. You may also wish to examine the help page or the Wikipedia:Tutorial if you would like to learn more about contributing to the encyclopedia in general. If you'd like to work on articles along with a group of other people, try taking a look at the Collaboration of the week or one of its many sub-collaborations. Some pages that you may want to visit or use as references include User page, How to edit a page, Manual of Style, and Policies and guidelines. If you so desire, you can always drop me a line at my talk page or post a question via the Village pump.

Happy editing!

P.S. You can sign your name as I did using three tildes, like ~~~. If you use four instead of three, you can add a timestamp too. |}

VfD nominations

[edit]

Hi Jules991,

Welcome aboard Wikipedia. We can always use more hands copyediting, stub sorting, and just keeping the place clean. Just a note about nominating articles for deletion. After you add the VfD template, you'll want to follow up with the rest of the nomination procedure (It's described in detail at the bottom of the votes for deletion page) so that the nomination will appear on the VfD page. I noticed that you hadn't had a chance to finish the process with Floyd Martinson after adding the template.

I actually replaced the {{vfd}} with a {{delete}}, to mark the article for speedy deletion. Usually that's a safe bet for two-word articles with no history, and it keeps VfD from getting clogged up. Happy editing, --TenOfAllTrades (talk/contrib) 00:53, 3 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for clearing that up, I was actually wondering about that :) I'll remember that in the future. Julianne

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
